Our halls vary in capacity between 40-600 people and are suitable for a range of activities such as meetings, exercise classes, social clubs, dance classes, community events, culturally and linguistic diverse events, art exhibitions, weddings and concerts. Preston City Hall

Clyde Street Community Hall

Clyde Street Community Hall is a lovely indoor/outdoor space available for hire in Thornbury. This hall boasts an indoor space suitable for meetings, social clubs, indoor health and well-being activities and playgroups as well as a designated fenced off play area outside with an undercover BBQ area. 
The kitchenette has a stove/oven combo for heating and serving purposes. 
This is our only small hall suitable for birthday parties and is only available for primary school aged children 5-12 years old. 
Clyde Street is a self-set-up venue with chairs & tables are available for use. 
Off street parking is available, wheelchair and accessible friendly.

Donald Street Community Hall is an inviting space available for hire in Preston. This hall has an indoor area suitable for meetings, social clubs, indoor health and well-being activities or dance classes. 
The kitchenette has a stove/oven combo for heating and serving purposes and a hot water boiler for tea and coffee making. 
Donald Street is a self-set-up venue and chairs & tables are available for use.

Fairfield Community Room

The Fairfield Community Room is a light and open space available for hire in Fairfield.  It is situated in the Fairfield Community Centre in the heart of the Fairfield shopping strip. The room is ideal for yoga and other indoor health and well-being activities, meetings, focus groups and small dance groups. 
Kitchenette has a stove/oven combo for heating and serving purposes and a fridge, freezer, microwave and bench space. 
Fairfield Community room is a self-set-up venue and chairs & tables are available for use.

Ruthven Community Room

The Ruthven Community Room is a brand new bright and open space available for hire in Preston. Located within the Ruthven Reserve Pavilion it has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the sporting grounds.  The room is perfect for meetings, information or training sessions and indoor health and well-being activities.
Kitchenette has a stove/oven combo for heating and serving purposes and a fridge, freezer, sink, hot water zip tap and bench space. 
Ruthven Community Room a self-set-up venue and chairs & tables are available for use. 
Street parking is available, wheelchair and accessible friendly.

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre

Darebin Intercultural Centre

The Darebin Intercultural Centre (IC) is a dedicated space for intercultural dialogue, engagement and community development. It is a practical demonstration of Darebin City Council’s commitment to combat racism and foster cultural diversity and connectedness between Darebin’s diverse community members. We host a variety of activities throughout the year that provide an opportunity for community to connect with each other and celebrate, share, and learn about diverse ways of being, knowing, and doing. The Centre has meeting rooms with conference style facilities including, Wi-Fi, AV equipment and a fantastic community kitchen space that are available for hire for events and activities driving the centres purpose and vision.

The Pearl Room:  The large first floor room has an in-built small stage and a capacity for 50 theatre style or 20 U shape. The Jade Room: The large ground floor function room has a capacity for 50 people theatre style or 20 for U shape. The light filled room has an AV set up with a projector and screen, laptop, LCD TV, lectern, microphone, whiteboard and WIFI internet.
The Amber Room: Small 6-person meeting room on the first floor. Max capacity 6.

Darebin North East Community Hub

Darebin North East Community Hub is a newly refurbished community centre located in Bundoora. In addition to our services listed below we are also currently home to 3KnD, Melbourne’s only Indigenous radio station. Program Room 1: A room with great natural light, a kitchen and the capacity to seat 14 people.  This room also has access to the small courtyard at the front of the centre.

Program Rooms 2 and 3: These rooms can be hired as one large room or separated into two smaller rooms.  The combined room has the capacity to seat 35 to 40 people. This room has access to the large courtyard at the back of the centre. Suitable for meetings, learning and development sessions and group activities.

Keon Park Children's Hub

The Keon Park Children’s Hub is a community centre, located in northern Reservoir. The hub provides a range of family and community services as listed below and has multi-purpose spaces available for hire. A large welcoming foyer has a variety of activities, community information and an area to relax. The multi-purpose rooms are available for hire for variety of purposes. Suitable for your social clubs, local community gatherings, after school programs, workshops, training sessions and children’s activities, the hub provides a space for community to learn, connect and grow.

Reservoir Community and Learning Centre

The Reservoir Community and Learning Centre is a welcoming and vibrant community hub in the heart of Edwardes Street Reservoir.  The hub is home to the new Reservoir Library and Decibels Recording Studio in addition to providing a range of health, family and community services. Our Senior Citizens Centres are a place for community members to meet, discuss, organise activities or run workshops.

In Darebin we have six Senior Citizens Centres. These centres can be hired by eligible incorporated and not-for-profit community groups and organisations for activities that are welcoming and inclusive of older people. 

Priority is given to activities that promote active and healthy ageing as outlined in Council's Active and Healthy Ageing Strategy 2011 – 2021. Groups running activities that connect people from different ages (intergenerational activities) are also encouraged.
