This group provides strategic advice and recommendations to Council in relation to the implementation of the Domestic Animal Management Plan.
Darebin Council’s Towards Equality - Equity Inclusion and Human Rights Framework 2019-2029(PDF, 1MB) reflects Council’s commitment to social justice - tackling disadvantage, standing up against discrimination in all its forms and responding equitably to the diverse needs and aspirations of the Darebin community.
The purpose of this committee is to provide strategic advice and recommendations to Council in relation to the implementation of the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2022-2025(PDF, 335KB). The group will discuss topics such as effective cat and dog management, domestic animal issues within the community, increasing registration and identification of dogs and cats, reducing the number of dogs and cats impounded to the shelter and identifying opportunities to work collaboratively to improve animal outcomes.
The committee meetings will be held 3 times yearly. Committee members are appointed for an initial 2-year term.
