Clublinks were chosen through a competitive tender process, as an experienced and highly regarded organisation, with innovative and inclusive programming and activities to support diverse groups from across the community to get involved at the centre.
Darebin Mayor Councillor Julie Williams said the contract helps support the health and wellbeing of the entire community through inclusive programs at the newly redeveloped, state-of-the-art centre.
“The Social and Sustainable Procurement outcomes and benefits to the local Darebin community proposed within their submission are a testament to the value Clublinks places on supporting local. This includes a commitment to ensure employment opportunities are reflective of the community,” Mayor Williams said.
Clublinks CEO Anthony Lawrence said the facility held tremendous potential and is excited by the opportunity to build on the facility offerings further through activities and events that will attract people from all over the community.
“The Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre will embody a true community hub, in which all members of the community feel welcomed,” Lawrence said.
