Darebin City Council welcomes appointment of Municipal Monitor

The Minister for Local Government, the Hon Shaun Leane MP, today announced John Watson as the Municipal Monitor appointed to Darebin City Council.

Bringing a wealth of experience spanning four decades of public sector experience across State and Local Government, Mr Watson is a well-respected professional and we welcome his appointment. We are united in our commitment to working closely with Mr Watson who will be in place until the end of January 2023.

Councillors and the organisation will work closely with Mr Watson to ensure good governance and to work in the best interests of the community. As part of this process, regular reports will be provided to the Minister regarding progress and any necessary recommendations.
