It's time to celebrate the First Nations people who have continually fought for survival, change and equal rights since invasion.
It’s NAIDOC Week 2022 (3 to 10 July), a time to celebrate the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, leaders and Elders who have continually fought for survival, change and equal rights since European invasion.
This year, NAIDOC Week calls on everyone to Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! It’s a call to action for a commitment from all Australians to do more to make our country better for First Nations people.
Join us and celebrate
We’re celebrating NAIDOC Week with a flag raising ceremony and launch of new exhibitions at the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre on Saturday 9 July.
Celebrating key artworks in the Darebin Art Collection, ‘Mapping the curious heart' presents the work of eight First Nations women with strong culturally-led practices.
There are also three solo exhibitions by artists Lotte Frances, Pia Johnson and Narelle White exploring gender, politics, the body and the self.

Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!
We are reminded to Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! and support and secure institutional, structural, collaborative, and cooperative reform for First Nations people. It’s also a time for everyone to learn and celebrate the oldest, continuous living culture.
You can get involved by joining one of the many NAIDOC Week events in your area.
Darebin Libraries has created Deadly Reads, a spotlight of the excellent and important work of leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors and illustrators.
There are also great educational resources available to help spread the word about NAIDOC Week, its history and themes.
It's our responsibility to listen to First Nations voices, perspectives and experiences, and share what we’ve learnt with each other.
