Due to reaching capacity, the DRRC will not be able to accept steel from now 3.30pm Friday 10 January through Monday 13 January. This will resume as usual Tuesday 14 January. The DRRC will be closed due to heat restrictions Monday 13 January from 1.30pm till the end of the day.

Darebin City Council will showcase the stunning new Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre for Melbourne Design Week this May.
Darebin and the architectural design team, led by Warren and Mahoney, will take you through the world leading sustainable community hub on a tour and talk.
Darebin Mayor Cr Susanne Newton is proud to showcase this stunning new facility for the whole community for years to come.
“The Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre has been designed to service the whole Darebin community with specific focus on ensuring it is fit-for-purpose, so the diverse community feels welcome and included” Mayor Newton said.
“Achieving 6-star green star design rated build is one example of our commitment to taking action in the climate emergency by creating environmentally responsible spaces.”
The Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre’s world leading sustainability credentials include carbon neutral building in operation with 100% green power, rainwater harvesting for swimming pools/ landscaping and grey water toilets, electric heating, cooling and hot water systems using source heat pumps, Timber structure (Forest Stewardship Council) to the swimming pool hall and a 6 Star Green Star design rating by Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
