We are proud to once again support the Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees.
Darebin City Council proudly supports The Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees.
While acknowledging and welcoming the Federal Government’s pathway to permanency for more than 19,000 Temporary Protection Visa and Safe Haven Enterprise Visa holders, this year, we join faith groups and community organisations in calling on the Federal Government to grant Permanent Visas for ALL Refugees, to ensure fair process, work rights and income support for all people seeking asylum, and to end offshore processing.
As a member of the Local Government Mayoral Taskforce Supporting People Seeking Asylum campaign, this year, Darebin Council is joining mayors from municipalities across the country and participating in the Palm Sunday Walk under the Back Your Neighbour campaign,
As a signatory to the Refugee Welcome Zone declaration and member of Welcoming Cities network, Darebin City Council reaffirms its commitment to continue advocating for the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum”
