Everyone wants to enjoy a visit to the park without encountering pests.

A population of non-native rats have infested the Edwardes Lake Park playground area impacting the ecosystem, the wildlife and people visiting the park. So everyone can enjoy the park, playgrounds and natural environment as pest free as possible, we are running a controlled eradication program to reduce the rat population. A section of the playground will be cordoned off from Tuesday 11 June to Friday 28 June so the park is ready and accessible in time for school holidays. The small section of park will be fenced off for during this program with minimal disruption to the main part of the park and playground area. The targeted program chosen is safe for people, wildlife and domestic visitors to the park.
