The Families, Youth and Children Strategy aims to enable Council and partners to take a long-term strategic approach to improving outcomes for children and young people aged 0-25 years and their families.

Childhood through to young adulthood are critical times in life. The experiences that people have from birth through to 25 years of age have profound and lasting effects on their health, wellbeing and life chances.

This strategy has been developed through engagement and collaboration processes that have involved more than 1000 children, young people and adults from across the Darebin community, including representatives from more than 50 organisations who all have a stake in improving outcomes for all.

We hope that the strategy will provide a framework for action that supports Council, community and a wide range of partners to work together to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and families.
