Secondary school students

We visit all secondary schools in our community to give immunisations to students in year 7 and year 10. The following vaccines are recommended and funded under the National Immunisation Program.

Year 7

  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV) - given as one injection
  • Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough (DTP) booster - given as one injection

Year 10

  • Meningococcal ACWY - given as one injection

If your child has missed their school visit or would prefer to be immunised away from school, you are welcome to attend any of our sessions to receive these vaccines. We also welcome students from other schools outside the City of Darebin.

Overseas immunisations

If your child was immunised overseas, we can review your child's history, update the Australian Immunisation Register, and recommend catch-up immunisations if needed.

Contact us on 03 8470 8562 or email immunise@darebin.vic.gov.au before attending an immunisation session so we can help you with a catch-up plan.

Catch-up immunisations

Anyone can access free catch-up vaccinations for missed childhood and adolescent NIP vaccines up to and including 19 years of age. A catch-up dose of HPV/Gardasil®9 vaccine is available until 26 years of age.  We can help you work out which vaccines you or your child may have missed and create a catch-up plan.

Contact us on 03 8470 8562 or email immunise@darebin.vic.gov.au before attending an immunisation session so we can help you make a catch-up plan.
