Home support services for older residents

older person with home carer

We offer services and support to help older people be active, stay independent and be connected with the Darebin community.

Our home support services are funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).

The CHSP is for people over the age of 65 who need extra help at home or in the community (or over 50 years for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people).

This might include support with personal care, cleaning, meals, transport and more. It is the first level of support in the aged care system.

For more information about the Commonwealth Home Support Program, please download the brochure in your language or read information in your language on the My Aged Care website.

When things got a little bit difficult for me earlier this year, my family and I were able to contact the Darebin Council, a send somebody to see just what was needed around the house. And I have had such wonderful help from the council, and I'm able to live independently, thanks to the Darebin Council.

If you're like me and find that occasionally you need help around the house. Don't hesitate, but ring the Darebin City Council.
