There are a number of Neighbourhood Houses providing a range of support and recreational services in Darebin.
Alphington Community Centre
The Alphington Community Centre provides a range of support and recreational services including:
- Children's activities and workshops
- Playgroups
- Toy Library
- Health and wellbeing classes for adults
- Counselling services
- Computers, arts and craft, cooking
- Book clubs and history group
- Community Choir
- Community Lunches
- Men's Shed
- Sustainability workshops
- Main room available to hire for community groups and birthday parties
There is wheelchair access throughout, with the exception of the meeting room.

PRACE (Preston Reservoir Adult Community Education)
PRACE provides a range of education programs to encourage community involvement and lifelong learning, and to improve employment potential for participants including:

Bridge Darebin
Bridge Darebin is an innovative, not-for-profit organisation and certified social enterprise based in Preston and Thornbury. Their aim is to strengthen the community by providing social and educational services to empower those who need it most. Their services include:
- adult education (digital literacy, English, art and craft and other pre-accredited skills for work and study programs)
- health and wellbeing programs (Zumba, yoga, walking group)
