International Women's Day
March
International Women's Day (8 March) is a global day to celebrate the achievements of women and recognise the need for gender equality.
International Women's Day (IWD), celebrated annually on 8 March, is a day when individuals, organisations and governments around the world celebrate the social, cultural and political achievements of women. It's also as a day to raise awareness and take action against gender-based discrimination and violence.
IWD is about women's equality in all its forms. For some, IWD is about fighting for women's rights or reinforcing key commitments. For others it means celebrating success through festive gatherings and parties. All choices are valid and can contribute to the thriving global movement focused on women's advancement.
