During this free session you’ll be guided by a member of Darebin’s Open Space team to take plant cuttings from the Keon Park Children’s Hub native Garden.
Learn how to select cuttings, apply rooting hormone, get soil mix tips, and store your cuttings to give them the best chance of survival.
You’ll leave with some cuttings to take home, and some will be left behind for future planting days at the Children’s Hub.
Great for anyone aged 8 to 101 years.
Some of the plants we’ll be working on include:
- Hardenbergia (happy wanderer)
- Goodenia ovata (hop goodenia)
- Pelargonium austral (Austral Storks Bill)
- Chrysocephalum apiculatum (Yellow Buttons)
- Atriplex semibaccata (Australian Saltbush)
- Carpobrotus modestus (pigface)
- Myoporum petiolatum (sticky boobialla)
This event is free, but registration is essential.
