Community sports clubs
We have around 60 sports club tenants providing sport activity and competitions for the local community. Clubs are welcoming and inclusive to people of all ages, genders, abilities and backgrounds.

Junior boys and girls
For junior boys and girls starting out in sport, our clubs offer popular U10's junior starter programs for kids to learn sports in a fun, encouraging and inclusive environment. Kids can try programs locally that include:
Darebin Community Sports Stadium (DCSS)
Our sports stadium in Reservoir has indoor courts for sports including basketball, netball, badminton, volleyball and tennis. There is also 5 outdoor netball courts.

Darebin International Sports Centre (DISC)
This Thornbury venue is home AusCycling, and synthetic soccer pitches managed by Football Victoria and Bowls Australia.

Golf courses
Northcote Public Golf Course offers a challenging nine-holes of golf for you to enjoy. Open to new players and guests.

Ice HQ
Ice HQ is an indoor ice skating and ice hockey stadium located at Blake Street in Reservoir. Managed by a private operator but open to the public, Ice HQ offers ice hockey programs and competitions, ice skating programs and public skating.

Narrandjeri Stadium
Narrandjeri Stadium, Located at John Cain Memorial Park in Thornbury is the brand new purpose-built multi-sports premier facility for women's sport and the wider Darebin community. The facility boasts four indoor courts, including a showcourt, four outdoor courts, meeting rooms and an onsite Café offering a variety of sports and activities for all ages and abilities.

Tennis courts
We have 7 tennis clubs across the municipality offering public casual court hire, competitions and coaching programs. To find a venue closest to you and book online, visit play.tennis.com.au
We currently manage Northcote Tennis Courts at McDonell Park. The facility has 6 synthetic grass courts available for court hire and coaching programs. For more information and to book online, visit the venue website.

Book a sport venue
Casual bookings
You can book a sport ground for your school, club / group sporting event or a community event by making a booking enquiry at our online booking page. Once submitted, our Leisure Services team will be in touch to discuss further or approve.
Season bookings
Sports clubs book some sports grounds during certain seasons of the year. All clubs must comply with our Sporting fees, charges and occupancy agreement policy(PDF, 276KB) .
If you're a new club looking for a sports ground, please call 03 8470 8376 or email sport@darebin.vic.gov.au to discuss your needs and find out how to apply for a seasonal or annual allocation.
Hot air balloon permits
All hot air balloon operators must have a permit to launch and land in Darebin. The permitted locations are Mayer Park in Northcote and CT Barling Reserve in Reservoir.
