Resources for going electric in business
If you're keen to read more about how and why to go electric, here are some good resources.
Why we need to electrify everything
Business and industry produce around 40% of our greenhouse gas emissions. By electrifying our businesses and powering them with renewable energy, we are directly tackling the climate crisis.
Find out more about how electrifying everything can address the climate crisis, and check out the Rewiring Australia movement led by Saul Griffith.
General information
The Victorian Government has created a Gas Substitution Roadmap which outlines timelines and strategies for reaching net zero in the gas sector.
The Federal Government energy.gov.au website has some great information for businesses, including links to grants and funding.

Beyond Zero Emissions has some great information on business electrification.
The Climate Council has some great background information and other resources.
The revitalised SEC is introducing programs and resources for electrification of homes and businesses.
Renew’s Getting off Gas Toolkit is aimed at households, but much of the information is also relevant to businesses.
Cost savings
Electrifying also has financial benefits. While there are many cost saving calculators for homes, business energy use varies much more widely and as a result can be more difficult to calculate.
For smaller upgrades, discuss predicted savings with the salespeople or consultants.
For larger upgrades we recommend engaging an engineer or other suitable consultant to calculate the savings more accurately. You can find suitable experts at organisations such as the Energy Efficiency Council and the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity.
