Proposed Lease of 25 Edwardes Street Reservoir

Darebin City Council, acting in accordance with section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020, gives notice that it proposes to enter into a lease with Hands-On-Health Australia, for the property at 25 Edwardes Street, Reservoir, for the purpose of operating a community wellbeing hub.

Council proposes to lease the land under the following key terms and conditions:

  1. Initial Term: 5 years
  2. Indicative Commencement Date: 1 July 2025
  3. Further Terms: 2 further terms of 5 years each, subject to the Tenant meeting set conditions
  4. Permitted Use: Community Wellbeing Hub
  5. Commencing rent: $104.00 plus GST per annum

As part of its Community Engagement process Council is inviting submissions on this proposal. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by one of the below methods no later than 11:59pm Wednesday 23 April 2025.

A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at the meeting of the Hearing of Submissions Committee.

The Hearing of Submissions Committee meeting is proposed to be held at 7.30pm on 12 May 2025.

Written submissions in which the person does not request to be heard in person or be represented by any other person specified in the submission will be considered at the next available Council meeting, following the closure of submissions.

Following consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to grant the proposed lease or seek a variation to the proposal (including its refusal).

Any person making a written submission is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
