Our work experience program provides meaningful, hands-on learning in agriculture and horticulture.

Programs are available for secondary, VCE VM, VET, TAFE and University levels. Students with innovative ideas and a great sense of initiative are encouraged to apply.

Students will assist with animal care including feeding and cleaning out animal pens; assist guides with education programs and assist with general farm cleaning and grounds maintenance.

Secondary school, VCE VM, VET and TAFE (Under 18)

We offer a limited number of work experience placements per year to secondary, VET and VCE VM students. Secondary school placements run for one week, Monday to Friday. VCE VM and VET student placements can be discussed with our Education Team Leader.

To apply:

  3. Complete the Application Form

If your application is successful, you will be contacted by our Education Team Leader to arrange a time for a short interview.

University and TAFE (18+ years old)

We also offer a limited number of placements each year for University and TAFE students. The duration of TAFE and university placements depend on the requirements of the course you are enrolled in.

To apply:

  1. Apply for your Working with Children Check Card. Please note, it is now a requirement that all university and TAFE students that are 18+ years old hold a valid Working with Children Check card. This is a free check, for more information please go to the Working With Children Check website. We are unable to accept work placement students without this card.

  4. Complete the Application Form

Schools for children with additional needs

We welcome work experience applications from students with additional needs. For students who require a carer, please ensure the carer is available to attend the interview, and if successful, subsequent placement dates with the student.
